I have taken two Italian classes (A2.2 and A2.3), with Maria and have really enjoyed myself both times. She is excellent at facilitating conversation and creating an open and welcoming environment for learning. My grammar and conversation skills have improved a lot thanks to Maria. I always look forward to coming to class!

“I am taking some courses on personal growth with Maria Conte. Each course I take is visibly rich in content and well colored with detail. My recent course “Where to Find New Love Partners,” I personally found it particularly interesting. Maria through her organized presentations, invites participants to think deeply and learn about themselves. I wish I had taken her courses much earlier, as they are very educational, both for women and men. Maria is an excellent life coach who has great listening and guiding skills.”- Christine S. Davis – Boston, MA – Winter 2025

“Maria Conte came to our house for an Italian cooking class with my son. And yes, it was a gift for my son’s 16th birthday. With extreme kindness and skill, Maria and my son prepared an entire menu from appetizer to dessert, not excluding handmade pasta. The whole lesson was conducted in Italian. My son well enjoyed Maria’s guidance, learned new recipes and practiced Italian all at the same time. It was a great experience even for me who was watching everything from the next room. The food was delicious! I will hire Maria for future cooking lessons, and I want to recommend her to others, both young and old, as well.” – Ella H. Wilson – Newton, MA – Winter 2025

“I hired Maria Conte for private Spanish lessons for my son a couple of years ago because his Elementary School did not offer Spanish as a foreign language. Currently, my son is in Middle School. My son meets regularly with Maria twice weekly online, sometimes in person. I appreciate the individual lessons that Maria prepares for my son. The homework is full of activities and well balanced between grammar and culture. My son has learned so much, and he looks forward to each meeting with Maria with much enthusiasm. I can confirm that Maria is a distinguished teacher. I recommend Maria Conte as a language teacher for both children and teenagers.” – Daisy C. Welsh – Boston, MA – Winter 2025

“Maria Conte is a translator I consider highly special because of the quality of the work she delivered to me. She completed an English to Spanish translation job that consisted of a Divorce Agreement accompanied by other individual documents. Each page required a specific and complex format. Maria is neat and peculiar in detail. The quality shines through not only in the perfect translation but also in her ability to reproduce the original forms of the documents. Her prices are very reasonable. I recommend Maria Conte with pleasure for the translation of any legal documents.” – Louis R. G. – Boston, MA – Winter 2025

“I work in a hospital setting frequented by many South American patients who do not speak English. In order to communicate with them, I have taken two language courses privately with Maria Conte: “Intro to Spanish I” and “Spanish for Health Care Providers.” I found both courses to be well structured and easy to follow. The material is clearly presented and very useful. I also really appreciated Maria’s flexibility, gentleness and patience to work with me according to my availability, including Sundays. I have already signed up for the Conversation course. I gladly recommend taking Spanish classes with Maria Conte.” – Mia G. – Randolph, MA – Winter 2025

”I just enrolled in my third Italian class with Maria Conte. I continue with her classes for many reasons: her clear and helpful explanations, her keen listening ear, and her patience, warmth and humor. She has a wealth of knowledge about Italian language and culture, and she makes learning Italian fun!

I am a student of Italian descent who was enrolled in Maria Conte’s

“Easy Italian for Travelers I” course in the spring of 2024.  I do not speak Italian. That fall, I had the opportunity to take a trip to Italy.  (I am now enrolled in part II of the same course.)  I found that what I had learned from Maria in the Italian I class was extremely helpful in Italy.  Yes, the basics were helpful–the vocabulary, the commonly used phrases, the information needed for touristy places such as restaurants, hotels, public transportation–but I had an unusual experience which truly showed me the value of what I had learned in this class.  One of my elderly friends was lost and missing for several hours in Rome.  I found I was able to use  my “beginner’s” knowledge of Italian to obtain assistance from guards, police, pedestrians, and taxis, etc. to find my friend.  I will forever be  glad I took this course!

Because of this trip, I missed enrolling in part II of the course last fall.  As I said, I am taking it now, but it has been a year since I took part I.  So I used Maria’s textbook, “Easy Italian for Travelers I” to review.  It has been extremely helpful and I don’t think I could have gone on to Italian II without it.  The book is so organized, thorough, and easy to understand, which is a reflection of the way Maria actually teaches the course. She is very good at simple explanations and immersing the class in actual usage of Italian instead of English.  In short she makes it fun!  I would highly recommend her courses and her books.

Thank you,

I am in my late 70s and from Europe. It has been a couple of years that I have taken weekly ESL private lessons online with Maria. Maria prepares my weekly homework and sends it to me through email. Her lessons are of great help. They are clear, easy to understand and useful. I enjoy taking her classes which include grammar and conversation. When I travel I feel more confident as my English has improved a lot. Maria Conte has a nice personality and is a great professor!

I am a single mom, originally from South America and moving to Switzerland, in an Italian area,  with my 8 year old daughter soon. My daughter has taken private Italian lessons with Maria meeting three times weekly online and in-person for a few months. My daughter learned quite a lot and enjoyed every lesson. Maria did a wonderful job in preparing my daughter for both language and culture. She is very kind, flexible and cooperative.
