Cultura Italiana: Carla Fracci

Carla Fracci (1936-2021), was an Italian ballerina and actress from Milan (Lombardy). Her childhood was quite difficult because of the war. However, Carla’s talent was recognized from an early age showing a distinct sense of rhythm and elegance. Some family friends advised her to study dance. She studied at the ballet school of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

Carla Fracci is considered the greatest Italian dancer of the 20th century. Throughout her career, she has danced with some of the most important ballet companies and performed a variety of roles. The excellent results of her performances have earned her sympathy and honors not only in Italy but also abroad.
